Sponsors for musical wanted

THE Operafest Children’s Choir will be presenting a charity musical entitled The West Side Story early next year. The choir is seeking corporate sponsors for the event.

The musical revolves around the story of two rival gangs, the Sharks and the jets. Romance blooms between Maria (played by Samantha Tan), a Puerto Rican girl, whose brother Benardo (played by Ti Yi Hong) is the leader of Sharks, and Tony (played by Brain Cheong), a Polish boy who belongs to the jets, the rival enemy of the Sharks. Their love affairs sparks off a bitter war between the groups ending in a triple tragedy.
