Charity concert by children for children
IN aid of its special children's charity project, Childrencare, Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd recently sponsored a lively song-and-dance performance entitled One Voice, One Heart by the Operafest Children's Choir.
Among the audience of about 500 were 82 children from Rumah Ozanam, Rumah Charis and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Impian. Besides getting to enjoy the concert, the little ones were also presented with a cuddly Childrencare Carie Bearie teddy bear mascot.
On behalf of Great Eastern, the company's director and chief executive officer Alex Foong presented a cheque of RM20,000 to Operafest founder and conductor, Kam Sun Yoke.
Great Eastern's Childrencare project, launched in 1995 to help the children's charities under the umbrella of the National Welfare Foundation, is funded via annual fund-raising campaigns by the company. To date, more than RM400,000 has been raised to help the disabled and other needy children in the country. |
