Exploring musical theatre
ALWAYS fascinated by musical theatre? The songs, the drama and the magic?
Well, The Actors Studio Academy is proud to offer you an interactive way to discover the different styles of music and an opportunity to unleash your own talents in musical theatre.
This course will introduce you to the theoretical and practical aspects of the genre.
You will learn how to utilise your voice and also how to prepare and perform a song.
For aspiring singers and actors, this course will introduce skills necessary for an audition.
This course will be conducted by Llewellyn Marsh, an accomplished musician. He was trained in Theatre Arts and Stage Management at Hayman Theatre, Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He started when he was 10, with Operafest Childrens Choir in Faures Requiem, Strauss Die Fledermaus and Mozarts Le Nozze de Figaro with The London Touring Opera.
He was 18 when he played the leads in Sondheim's A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum and Molieres The Miser.
He also played The Freshmen in Scorpion Orchid, directed by Joe Hasham & Krishen Jit, produced by The Actors Studio & Five Arts Centre.
At 21, he was in the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar at Her Majestys Theatre. In 2000, he and Christopher Ling started Rep21.
He produced Five Letters From Eastern Empire, The Dumb Waiter and others.
The six-week course will not only give students great enjoyment but will also serve as a steppling stone to the world of performance arts.
